It is great to see more and more people embracing this way of sustainable living. Of course in the current real estate market, or at any time for that matter it is important to stand out. Having my EcoBroker® certification has really helped with that as has the fact that I obtained it well over a year ago and that I believe in and love what I choose to do for a living. My husband and I are in the beginning stages of research for a remodel of a house here in Santa Barbara. We purchased 'Green Remodeling For Dummies' book written by Eric Corey Freed and have been learning more about the differences in insulation, water heaters and choices in paint, appliances and construction waste solutions. I highly recommend this book… I will let you know what happens throughout the remodel process...and if there is any truth to the rumors that having a green remodel gets your permits through the City of Santa Barbara any faster.
